My paintings stem from an imaginative projection in which I am recounting a body, my body and encounters with familiar bodies. These experiences serve as a starting point from which the work is born but become merely an essence of themselves as they are filtered through a stream of consciousness that is fostered by emotional thinking. The relationship between these encounters and my representation of them has caused me to contemplate the complexities of intimacy, love, and boundary. As the work unravels, more formal decisions are made in a response that is intuitive to what is existing on the page. Complexities begin to grow, breathe and vacillate between body and abstraction within these environments. Themes of femininity and touch are explored through the character of line and quality of paint where the form acts as if to caress a bodily being. An intercourse of forms will always exist and help to establish a high level of intimacy.
